Teaching

This blog contains posts and articles about teaching material, slides, topics and ideas for student projects, project marking and teaching methods. They are mostly related to design subjects and units I am teaching at the  moment, or have taught in the past.

I started teaching Design at uni during my MA at UNIMAS in Sarawak, Malaysia, for software subjects such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. After finishing my MA I started my first full-time position as a lecturer at Swinburne University’s Sarawak campus. Teaching here was a dream come true. Class sizes were small and lecturers had many liberties to adapt units from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia, to the local environment. This meant that we could use locally relevant projects and briefs for our students to work on. We also had many opportunities to take students out of the classroom and into the city, surrounding national parks and on other excursions.
